The best Discord XP and leveling bots

The best Discord XP and leveling bots, ranked on message and voice XP and role-reward headroom. Vetox is the only one checked with XP events and streaks.

The distinction that decides which bot you need

A leveling bot can be a leaderboard toy — one number that goes up, a rank card, and nothing else — or it can be a retention system that gives members a reason to come back next week specifically. Most servers install the first kind, get an initial burst of activity from the novelty, and then wonder why engagement flattens a month later. The reason, once you compare the whole category, is structural: every dedicated leveling specialist in this market ships exactly the first kind. The second kind is a design space nobody in the specialist tier has entered.

How this ranking was built, and what it is not weighted by

Every capability and price below was read from the vendor’s own site or documentation on 31 August 2026, against the five products that genuinely compete on leveling as their core product. The ranking weighs:

  • XP coverage — message and voice, since voice XP is the single most reliably paywalled capability in this category.
  • Role-reward headroom — how many level-to-role rewards the free tier allows.
  • Configurability and portability — custom rates, curves, multipliers, and whether a server can move its data in or out.
  • Whether progression is more than one counter — events, streaks or a seasonal structure.

It is not weighted by install count, App Directory position, or marketing volume.

Vetox — the only one with more than a counter

Absence-checked against each vendor’s own premium comparison table, full command reference and complete documentation index, not one of Arcane, Amari, Tatsu, Lurkr or ActivityRank has a scheduled XP event, a daily streak, a streak freeze, or a seasonal battle-pass track. What all five ship instead are rolling report windows — weekly and monthly leaderboards that measure a period without rewarding one — and vote boosts tied to voting for the bot on a listing site.

Vetox’s leveling system covers free text and voice XP with per-guild exclusions, and rank rewards have no cap in code at all — a server can give a colour role at level 5 and a perk role at level 10 with nothing to unlock. On top of the counter itself, three systems most competitors don’t attempt: XP Events (scheduled double-XP windows, free, with six configurable multipliers), Streaks (daily-activity tracking with milestone roles, free, freezes scaling by tier), and a Battle Pass at Basic ($4.99/month) — one season, ten quests, a structure closer to a live-service game than a leaderboard. None of the five specialists compete with this directly; they occupy a different, older shape of the same category.

Lurkr — configurability and portability Lurkr’s free tier carries its whole levelling feature set.

50 free role rewards at 3 per level is more than three times Arcane’s ceiling. Its custom XP curve is genuinely configurable — a polynomial with 2 to 5 coefficients, free — and it gives away 5 multiplicative multipliers, including values under 1. Lurkr is also the only bot in this category fighting the migration problem directly: it publishes a supported-bots import table, offers free instant export of a server’s own data, and states its reason for not supporting Arcane import — it will not ask users for their Discord credentials. Pricing runs through Patreon: Max at $1/month is a per-user perk tier, Ultimate at $5/month unlocks the server-level ceilings.

ActivityRank — free voice XP, and not much else

ActivityRank is the only one of the five that gives away voice XP free, with mute, deafen and solo exclusions built in — a real capability offered at no cost. The trade-off is everything around it: no web dashboard (/dashboard returns a 307 to Patreon, and pricing is not published on any first-party page), and no rank card at all — the vendor’s own site describes one as a future possibility, not a shipped feature. It shares free voice XP with Vetox alone across the six free tiers in the free leveling bot comparison.

Arcane, Amari, Tatsu

Arcane is the pick if a server specifically needs unlimited-feeling role rewards and voice XP in one product — at $7/month, nothing else in this comparison sells both, though voice XP requires inviting a second, premium-specific bot instance alongside the standard one. Its vote booster, notably, cannot be disabled at any tier.

Amari sells “User Premium” as a one-time, editable-amount payment pre-filled at $6.99, attached to an account rather than a server and giftable. Free servers get zero multipliers and no published role-reward cap, but there is no web dashboard at all — every setting is a chat command.

Tatsu does not sell voice XP at any price, absence-checked against its full command list. What it does offer free is a global cross-server XP profile alongside a per-server score, 10 leveled “no caveats” role rewards, and a free public API. Pricing runs two independent axes — a personal subscription from $4.99 to $39.99/month, and a separate server subscription from $4.99 to $8.99/month.

The one thing nobody charges for: the public API

Three of the five levelling specialists ship a free public API. Tatsu’s is free outright. Amari’s exists too, though keys are issued only by manual application through a Google Form, with up to 24 hours for approval. Arcane and ActivityRank ship none. Whatever else gets paywalled in this category, the API itself never does — which matters for a server wanting to pull its own leaderboard into an external site rather than screenshotting a Discord embed.

Frequently asked questions

Is voice XP usually free? No — it is the most reliably paywalled capability in this category. Arcane and Amari both charge for it, Tatsu and Lurkr don’t sell it at any price, and only ActivityRank and Vetox give it away free.

Do any Discord leveling bots have seasons or streaks? Not among the five dedicated specialists — absence-checked against each one’s full documentation. Vetox is the only product in this comparison shipping scheduled events, daily streaks and a seasonal battle pass alongside the base XP counter.

What’s the cheapest way to get unlimited role rewards? Vetox has no cap in code at all on its free tier, so the cheapest way is free. Among the paid specialists, Lurkr at $5/month gets closest, with 50 rewards at 3 per level.

Can I move my server’s leveling data to a different bot? Rarely, cleanly. Lurkr is the only one of the five that publishes a supported-bots import table and offers free instant export of a server’s own data — most competitors, Vetox included, have no documented import path from another bot.

Do any of these bots let a server export its leveling data? Only Lurkr, free and instant. Tatsu offers export through its API. The rest, Vetox included, have no documented export path for a server’s own leveling data.

Method

Every capability and price above was read from the vendor’s own site or documentation on 31 August 2026. Absence claims are scoped to the five products that compete on leveling as their core business, not to every Discord bot that happens to award XP as a side feature.
