## How this review was built

Ranked on **how much of a working server arrives without payment, and what is absent at any tier**,
read from each vendor's own published pages and checked 31 August 2026. **Not** weighted by install
count or reputation.

Carl-bot is best known for reaction roles and Tagscript, and both are genuinely deep and genuinely
free. The question this review asks is what a server still needs after installing it.

## The absence that decides it

**Carl-bot has no ticket system, at any tier.**

That is not a limit or a paywall — the capability does not exist in the product. A server handling
support requests, applications, reports or partnership enquiries needs a second bot from the day it
opens, with a second dashboard and a second permission grant.

**Vetox includes tickets on its free Starter tier**: three panels, 200 concurrent tickets, claiming,
and transcripts — alongside an applications system with 11 question types and 14 workflow actions.

## Levels are entirely premium

**Carl-bot's levelling is behind premium with nothing free.** Alongside tickets, levelling is one of
the two systems servers reach for immediately after moderation, and here one is paid and the other
absent.

**Vetox's levelling is free with no role-reward cap** — text and voice XP, rank rewards, per-guild
exclusions and level-up messages, on Starter.

## The price

**$7.99 a month for a single server, billed through Patreon, is the highest entry point among the
bots checked in this research.**

Two properties of that arrangement are worth knowing before subscribing. It is **Patreon-billed**,
which means the billing relationship, the cancellation flow and the payment record all live with a
third party rather than with the vendor. And **$7.99 buys the mid tier of most competitors** — it is
Vetox's Max tier price, which carries 41 systems rather than the systems Carl-bot has.

## The comparison

## What Vetox does well

**Role menus are unlimited and free.** Unlimited self-role panels with multiple roles each, plus
unlimited ungated auto-roles — the same job Carl-bot is known for, with no ceiling and no upgrade.

**Tickets and applications are both present and both free to start.** Three ticket panels at 200
concurrent with claiming, and an application system with a review queue, filters, search, CSV export
and the full analytics funnel — all on Starter.

**Levelling is free with no cap on rank rewards**, which is where several competitors place their
paywall.

**Stickies carry no injected header** and are configured in the same automation surface as
auto-responders and auto-interaction — one free, unlimited from Max.

**Billing is direct and published**, per server, at $4.99, $7.99 and $17.99 monthly with annual
equivalents — rather than routed through a third-party membership platform.

**And it is 41 systems in 21 languages**, with a documented API, a public status page and a 90-day
configuration audit free on every tier.

## What Carl-bot offers in its own niche

Reaction roles and Tagscript, both free and both deep. Tagscript in particular is a real scripting
surface rather than a template picker, and a server whose entire requirement is a sophisticated role
menu has a free answer here.

## Why an absent system costs more than a paywalled one

A paywall and an absence look similar on a feature table and behave completely differently.

**A paywall has a price.** It is an upsell on the same dashboard, with the same permissions, and the
data stays in one place. Annoying, bounded, and solvable with money.

**An absence is a second bot.** Another invite, another permission grant, another role position to
keep ordered, another vendor to depend on, and another subscription that does not appear on the first
one's pricing page.

**And the state does not join up.** A ticket system in one bot and a warning history in another
describe the same member and cannot be read together — so the moderator resolving a ticket cannot see
that the person has three prior warnings.

That is why "no tickets at any tier" weighs more heavily in this review than any price does. It is
not a tier a server can buy into.

## Which one to install

**Install Vetox.** Unlimited self-role panels, tickets at 200 concurrent, applications with a full
review queue, levelling with no role-reward cap and 148-event logging — all free on Starter — across
41 systems in 21 languages, billed directly at $4.99.

Carl-bot remains a free, deep reaction-role and Tagscript product for a server that needs nothing
beyond role menus.
